Hello lovelies! How are you? I hope you’re having a lovely day and a lovely June so far! This is such an exciting month for new releases and I know I say that every month (I’m easily excited okay), but it’s extra true this time. There’s magical libraries and rom-coms and some kind of weird girly cult? I don’t know, but let’s try to find out!
Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson – June 4th
“Raised as a foundling in one of Austermeer’s Great Libraries, Elisabeth has grown up among the tools of sorcery—magical grimoires that whisper on shelves and rattle beneath iron chains.”
Buzzwords: Magical library! Magical books! Badass librarian! Enemies to lovers!
If It Makes You Happy by Claire Kann – June 4th
“Winnie is all set to attend college in the fall. But first she’s spending her summer days working at her granny’s diner and begins spending her midnights with Dallas—the boy she loves to hate and hates that she likes.”
Buzzwords: Body positivity! Fat black girl on the cover! Diner setting!
Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi – June 11th
“Sana Khan is a cheerleader and a straight A student. Rachel Recht is a wannabe director. As she’s casting her senior film project, she knows she’s found the perfect lead – Sana. There’s only one problem. Rachel hates Sana”
Buzzwords: Sapphic YA rom-com! Gay girls on the cover! Hate to love!
Bunny by Mona Awad – June 11th
“Samantha couldn’t be more of an outsider in her small, highly selective MFA program. She is utterly repelled by the rest of her fiction writing cohort–a clique of unbearably twee rich girls who call each other Bunny. But everything changes when she receives an invitation to the Bunnies’ fabled Smut Salon”
Buzzwords: Campus setting! Female friendship! Heathers comparison!
Screen Queens by Lori Goldstein – June 11th
“ValleyStart is the most prestigious high school tech incubator competition in the country. Lucy Katz, Maddie Li, and Delia Meyer have secured their spots. And they’ve come to win.”
Buzzwords: Girls in tech! Female friendship! The Bold Type comparison!
Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey – June 11th
“Annie is twenty-seven years old, single, and obsessed with romantic comedies. Her dating life is limited by the expectations she’s formed from these movies.”
Buzzwords: Rom-coms! Meet cutes!
All of Us with Wings by Michelle Ruiz Keil – June 18th
“Seventeen-year-old Xochi is alone in San Francisco, running from her painful past. Then one day, she meets Pallas, a precocious twelve-year-old who lives with her rockstar family in one of the city’s storybook Victorians.”
Buzzwords: San Francisco! Found family! Rockstars! Magic! Bi Latnix MC!
Wicked Fox by Kat Cho – June 25th
“Gu Miyoung has a secret, she’s a gumiho, a nine-tailed fox who must devour the energy of men in order to survive. Because so few believe in the old tales and with so many evil men no one will miss, the modern city of Seoul is the perfect place to hide and hunt.”
Buzzwords: Korean mythology! Set in Seoul! A nine-tailed fox! Goblins!
What’s your most anticipated June release?
Sorcery of Thorns is amazing, the romance is everything and the two characters involved in the romance aren’t even the most interesting ones, which in any other book would be a bad thing, but it’s not.
And I’m anticipating Tell Me How You Really Feel as well, even though some early reviews are making me hesitate. And I hope I’m able to get to All of Us With Wings soon, too.

Ooh, that sounds very interesting… I’m excited to read it!
I’ll have to look up some reviews for Tell Me How You Really Feel before picking it up then, I haven’t heard a lot about it yet! But it sounds so good, so I hope it is.

Every single one of these is on my anticipated list! I have had the physical arc of Sorcery for awhile and I’m so ashamed that I didn’t get to it before it released. I’m so excited for it though. Rogerson is such an amazing writer – I know it’s going to be so good.

Sorcery of Thorns x1000 at this stage I think! It’s popping up on all the June releases lists and it’s just making me want to read it more! Honestly, authors and their publishing houses should do research on how many book sales are generated through bloggers!

Yes! I keep hearing so many amazing things about it and it’s making even more excited to read it! They should 100% get on that, at least half the books I add to my TBR are because I saw them on a blog.

I swear that’s how I get a lot of books added onto my TBR these days – blog recommendations!
