Astrology Book Recommendations: Pisces

capture-20190222-144043.pngHello lovelies and happy Pisces season! How are you? Today’s post is the second in my series of astrology themed book recommendations where I recommend books based on your sun sign. Since I’m a Pisces myself I had a lot of fun writing this post and I’m super excited to share it with you guys, especially since a lot of you told me you’re Pisces as well! So I hope you enjoy reading this and maybe find some books to add to your TBRs.

Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore

Magical realism is a genre that will really appeal to intuitive and imaginative Pisces, so they’ll be enchanted by this beautiful fairytale retelling about two Latinx sisters and the curse which will transform one of them into a swan. They’ll love it for it’s subtle magic, lush descriptions and soft romantic relationships.

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson

Pisces are known as the the zodiac’s great artists, they have a lot of creative energy and love making things. So they’ll love reading about the Sweetwine twins, Jude and Noah, who are both very passionate about their art and their desires to create. They’ll also love Jandy Nelsson’s unique writing style and be moved by the emotional story.

Emily of New Moon by L.M Montgomery

Pisces are soft and sensitive creatures. Sometimes they just want to escape into an idyllic, dreamy world and Emily’s tranquil life at New Moon will soothe their souls. They’ll also connect deeply with Emily, who’s fierce imagination often runs wild and who’s passion for writing will inspire their own creativity.

White Oleander by Janet Fitch

White Oleander follows Astrid, a young artist, through several different foster homes, after her mother, a beautiful poet, issent to prison for killing her lover. Pisces are one of the most adaptable signs in the zodiac, they’re deeply influenced by their surrounding and the people that come into their lives, so they’ll be fascinated by how Astrid’s coming of age story is affected by her changing environments.

The Raven Boys – Maggie Stiefvater

Pisces are the clairvoyants of the zodiac, deeply intuitive and in touch with their spiritual side. So this world of psychics, magical quests and mythical kings will feel like home to them and Stiefvater’s atmospheric writing will give them the escape from the real world they so often crave.

The Wicker King – K. Ancrum

Pisces are ruled by their emotions and have a lot of empathy, so they’ll find themselves deeply immersed in this story about two boys who’s relationship is very intense and emotional. They’ll also be fascinated by the fantastical aspect and the way this book explores fantasy vs. reality.

Fairytales for Wilde Girls by Allyse Near

I feel like Pisces is the sign who’d be most likely to see ghosts and speak to faeries, just like Isola Wilde, the protagonist of Allyse Near’s modern Gothi fairytale. This book has a very ethereal, otherworldly energy I think Pisces will love.

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor

Pisces have very activeΒ  imagination and can easily get lost in their day dreams. They enjoy escaping from reality, sometimes a little too much. With it’s incredibly rich and magical world-building Strange the Dreamer is the perfect book to escape into. Dreams even play a part in the plot…

I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith

Pisces are kind-hearted, soft and compassionate, so they’ll appreciate this warm and cozy coming of age story about a family who live in an old, crumbling cast and relate to it’s narrator, Cassandra, who has a very active imagination and rich inner emotional life.

What’s your sign? What do you think of the books I’ve picked for Pisces? Is there a book you think fits your sign perfectly?

  3. This is such a lovely list of books, and I loved seeing the connections you drew between them πŸ™‚ The Raven Boys seems like such a perfect fit for this. I’m a Cancer, but I honestly know nothing about astrology and have no idea what books would fit with that sign lol.
