Blogger Aesthetic Tag

Hi guys! How are you? I hope you’ve had a lovely week! Y’all know I love making aesthetics, so of course I had to this lovely tag when I saw it.

RULES
1. Collect any number of images that you feel represent you as a person—your personality, aspirations, favourite things, anything at all that makes you you.
2. Put your chosen images together into a collage of whatever size and shape you find pleasing.
3. Share your masterpiece with everyone, in all the places.
4. Maybe nominate other bloggers as a way to tell them, “Hey, you, I think you’re awesome, and we should celebrate that awesomeness.”

BOOKS: I fell in love with books for the first time as a child, when my mom read The Hobbit and The B.F.G and The Witches and Harry Potter to me. I was a reader throughout my childhood and early teens, but for a few years I kind of lost the habit. Then I fell love with reading for the second time, as an adult, when I was alone in a big city and needed something, besides my own thoughts, to fill my head with.

FLOWERS: I love flowers. I love receiving them and I love buying them for myself even more. A bouquet of fresh flowers always lightens my mood – as well as any room. I believe in this so much I used to spend my last pounds on peonies instead of bread as a broke student, around the same time I used to be late to classes cause I’d take the long way to campus just to walk beneath the cherry trees.

MUSIC: I can’t talk about music without talking about The National. The first time I heard one of their songs I was 16 and lowkey crushing on this  blogger who posted a lot of pictures of herself drinking wine on her rooftop. She had a Autumn playlist on Spotify which I was listening to while talking to my best friend on the phone. Slow Show came on and we both shut up until it was over. It was the first time hearing a song felt like coming home to me. And even though that’s happened a few times since – it’s never felt as magic as the first time. The National’s still my favorite band and this is still how I want to love and be loved: “I wanna hurry home to you. Put on a slow, dumb show for you and crack you up”

WRITING: Like a lot of readers, I’ve always been a writer as well. Or maybe I should say used to be. Cause even though characters and stories and dialogue still occupies a large part of my brain, it’s been a long time since I actually sat down and wrote something. It’s a little sad, cause writing used to be my favorite thing, but I’m starting to wonder if I even remember how to.

WALKS: One of my favorite things in the world is to aimlessly wander through a new city by myself. I think walking is the best way to get to know a place, you get to lose yourself in it’s rhythm and discover things you didn’t even know you were looking for. I love walking closer to home too, in the woods behind my house where I sometimes bump into friendly deer (ok, I so I just think we’re friends) or on the beach, especially in autumn when the summer people have left and it looks brand new again.

Since I wasn’t tagged I’m not going to tag anyone – but if you have your own version of this or want to do it, please leave a link so I can check it out. Aesthetics are my kryptonite!
Let’s talk! I know we’re all readers and book-lovers here, but what are some other things you’re in love with? What’s your favorite flower or your favorite song? And if you’re a writer, too, do you have any tips for how to get back into it?

  1. Those pics are SO soothing and lovely! I don’t know if I have an all-time favourite song, but one of my favourites is Delicate by Damien Rice. And I also adore walking aimlessly through the woods! My favourite hike trails are the ones that don’t have a path, just markers (which can admittedly be kind of scary when you’re a beginner), and you just feel so in tune with everything.

And as for writing, I find that doing really short fanfiction scenes for books/games/etc that I loved sometimes helps with the motivation. And also, just brainstorming random characters with none of the plot and worldbuilding–just their personality, backstory, interests. Most of my WIPs got started that way. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Kathy! I’m really glad you think so 😊

I hadn’t heard that one before, it’s a lovely song! That’s such helpful advice, thank you for sharing 🙂 I’ve totally starting brainstorming characters and I’m feeling so much more motivated to start writing now. I’m so grateful!

  2. Awe, this is so beautiful like all your aesthetics, so I definitely get a YOU vibe from it. And I love that you explained it a little as well, so that we really got to know you better. (I think when I did this, I just put an aesthetic there and was like “figure it out yourself or ask questions” hahaha)
